The Day the Sun Was Square

Title
The Day the Sun Was Square
Artist
Steven Barrett
Medium
Painting - Acrylic On Wood
Description
The original painting is acrylic on birch plywood, approximately 24X24 inches.
The inspiration for this painting was the view from my upstairs studio window. From the window I see the back porch rooftop and the tangled, thick woods beyond. Late into working on this piece I decided that maybe it was a bit too representational. So, I decided to depart (rebel) from what I knew and painted a "square" sun. But, in doing so I acknowledge that the sun is actually round and thus defeat my own rebelliousness.

Spooky -- Just a couple of hours before you posted this, I was looking at a Peavey amp at the flea market.
